New year, new byline. Like many Asian Americans, Liu Chia-Ming has long spurned her full name. Her experience reporting on the increase in anti-Asian sentiment and violence made her realize she needed to stop hiding. And her name was an excellent place to start. In this personal piece, she reflects on the journey of reclaiming her Chinese name, representing her community and being proud of who she is.
